Online Craps Hand with Dice IconThrowing the dice and getting that lucky seven is why most players enjoy online craps games, both on live casino tables and virtual ones. But what makes playing craps online worth it for players like you? We’ve listed the premium online casinos, bonuses, craps strategy, bets, rules, and payouts to get you started in this guide.

Online Craps Rules

Craps is preferred above many options at the casino because it has competitive betting odds, with the house edge standing at 1.41%. During the game, one player per round will be the “shooter” and throw the dice. Per the rules, the shooter rolls the dice to set the point number and will continue throwing until they get 7.

You can choose to place recurring bets or a single-roll wager for each dice roll. While you’re playing, these people will be watching the table to make your gameplay as smooth as possible. In online craps, the computer is in charge of their duties:

  • Boxman – Basically, the one in charge. The Boxman is seated in the middle of the table and watches what goes on in the game.
  • Dealer – Each game has two dealers that are seated beside the Boxman. They monitor the different sides of the table, and they must change the chips for the players.
  • Stickman – A man with a stick and a snazzy suit at the table. He is in charge of the dice, moving them from one player to the next, depending on its turn. After the bets are placed, the stickman gets to his duty initiating dice rolls.

Types of Online Craps Game

While most people will be familiar with standard craps games, there are some variations. So, check out these new takes on the table game:

Bank Craps

First, we have to mention the original Las Vegas (or Bank) Craps, which you’ll find easily online. It uses two dice, the standard rules, and the payouts you usually expect. In the game, you establish the point, bet on the sections, and then wait for the pointer to roll.

Crapless Craps

This is a variant invented by Bob Stupak, who made it possible not to lose a pass line bet by rolling 2, 3, or 12. This reduces the house edge, but most casinos won’t be offered because it’s not as profitable. However, it might be offered at independent gambling venues.

Open Craps

Generally, this game will only be played in private by high rollers or regular people. One person will bankroll the game, though the house edge is much higher. It also has a Win/Lose Line on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and ten, plus a 5% commission.

High Point Craps

In High Point craps games, an opening roll of two or three is ignored until a higher total is thrown. A roll of 11 or 12 will pay even-money, and anything else is the point number. With that in mind, the house edge is 2.35%, and you can win on any number higher than the point.

New York Craps

In New York craps, you can’t bet on “come,” “don’t come,” or “place” bets, and you have to play on the box numbers (4,5,6,8,9 or 10). The table layout is also different, with two boxmen on each end and a 5% house edge.

Simplified Craps

Our last entry is a beginner’s dream because Simplified Craps removes all of the complex side bets. All you have to do is roll the dice and win or lose on the dice total thrown. However, the payouts are based on the number you throw.

Payouts, Odds & House Edge

When you’re playing craps online, we recommend paying attention to the odds and payouts for online and land-based casino craps tables. Above all, you need to consider the house edge on every bet when you win. This is the percentage the casino takes from each win.

Since it’s built into online casino games, there’s no way to get ahead of the house advantage when you play a game of craps. So, take a look at these craps bets and what your chances of winning will be:

Craps Online Strategy

Some sites will tell you that their strategy is what will make you win every time. However, this is just impossible to guarantee, so we don’t recommend using (or paying for) these strategies.

Martingale

As one of the most famous regression strategies around, the name might be familiar to you. In this strategy, you’ll double your bets on every loss, starting with $1 until you win.

Reverse Martingale

Just like the original, this system doubles your bets, but only on a win. So, it’s a little better because you can technically minimize your losses better.

“Gambler’s Fallacy” Strategy

Sometimes, craps players will convince you that previous rolls will influence the next one. While we hate to be the bearers of bad news, this isn’t true.

Combination Betting Strategy

Most experienced players will tell you to make combination bets to get the best odds of winning. Technically, they’re not wrong, but it costs more at some tables when you bet on Don’t Pass, Don’t Come, and take a Field bet.

Classic Regression

With this craps strategy, you’ll place two $6 bets on six and eight, to start. If one of these numbers is thrown twice, you need to take off your stakes until seven is thrown again.

Anything but 7 Craps Online System

Placing several bets is a popular tactic in craps online, so this strategy will probably minimize your losses slightly. Basically, you’ll bet on multiple numbers and a field wager to cover your bases.

Three-Point Molly

As the original craps online system, this depends entirely on the Pass and Come bets with free odds. These will payout until a seven is thrown, so it’s meant to be fool-proof.

Online Craps FAQs

What do I need to know to start playing?

A round of craps begins when you start with a pass line or a do not pass line. The player rolling the dice (because they roll two at a time) is called the shooter. Any other player who wants to be part of the round also has to make a bet. The first time the dice are rolled is named the “come out roll’’.

Suppose your roll results are a seven or an 11, the bets that were placed on the pass line win. If the dice results are 2, 3, or 12, then the stakes that were a pass the line loses, and the “don’t pass “win. The numbers 2, 3, and 12 are the official numbers for craps.

The craps game also has bets called the “don’t come and come’’ bets, which are the opposite of the ones we just mentioned. You can place these bets after the come out rolls. You make a bet on top of the original bet, and then the next round will determine whether or not you win.

Moreover, you can bet on the come and odds bets. Meaning you keep betting multiple times on your original bet. This betting system is one of the best in all casino bets as it lowers the house edge to almost nothing.

How to Choose Online Craps Sites

1. Security Measures

Remember, any site you are using will only be legitimate if a foreign country and board license it. This is because online gambling has not yet been legalized in the US and is currently unregulated. The policy regulating your online gambling activities will be foreign too.

3. Player Support

The best sites usually have some instant communication platforms, whether it be 24/7 Live chats or an immediate messaging medium. Something that facilitates you to get help when you need it and as soon as you need it. There will also be alternative methods of contact, like phone numbers or email addresses. And most conveniently, a page of frequently asked questions to skip the queue.

4. Promotions

Promotions include welcome bonuses, free spins, free rounds, and all types of incentives for players when looking to play for real money on a site. Compare the different promotional bonuses offered by each site and make a choice based on your preferences. Because they will hardly be many financial differences between them. It will boil down to preference as a player.

5. Best Paying Online Craps Sites

You’ll be playing for real money, and there are a few ways to transact. And while there’s no one way to pick banking options, there’s one common aspect that we can all agree on, and that is the best paying. Find the best payout possible but most importantly, find a convenient way for the payout to reach you.
